Parent Cooperative

CFMS is operated, under the direction of  the Board of Directors, by the parents of the children enrolled in the school. Consequently, much of the work involved in keeping the school going is done, not by paid staff, but by volunteer labor contributed by parents, relatives, and friends.  In order to ensure that each family contributes its fair share  to the operation of the school, this work is organized under the CFMS Parent Cooperative  (or Co-op).

The purpose of the co-op is three-fold:

  1. To keep tuition rates low, by keeping down costs;
  2. To deepen parents' sense of ownership and involvement in the school;
  3. To build a spirit of community among our families.
